A Pretty  Sheepish
Little Festival

Disclaimer:
Identities of individuals and sheep
have been concealed
(as best I could)

On with the festival...

The big day had arrived.
The day of the "Sheep festival"!
It was a gorgeous day.
Seriously.
Wall to wall clouds and a heavy, steady rain.
So rare in these parts
that it is considered beautiful weather.
P.S. to Aliceathome:
Looked inta that "umbrella" thing you mentioned.
Turns out they sell 'em here in town.
Who knew?
Came in real handy
once I figured out how to use it.
Ed and Hank didn' want nothin' ta do with 'em though.

The hordes of people were makin'
Ed and Hank and me
a little nervous.
We're not used to such big crowds
in these parts.
But we toughed it out
because we were determined to
finally
find some sheep...
After all,
the newspaper said
there are 26,000 sheep
in this county.
They're pretty good at hidin' is all
I can say.

And sure 'nough.
There they were...

Sheep!

On a float?

And then there were even more sheep...

Hmmm...
A lot of them sheep
have them blue exes on their backs...

And even more sheep...

Musta been all 26,000 of 'em.

But what's this?
A cowboy with an umbrella?!?

He must not be a
real cowboy.

'Cause
 real cowboys

don' need no
stinkin' umbrellas...

Yeah.
That's a semi-truck.
In the parade.
No sheep parade would be complete
without one.

But wait.
 I seem to have lost
Ed and Hank
somewhere in this huge throng of people...
 Damn!

Well, that ain't Ed...

And that ain't Hank
hiding behind

that giant horse's ass...

And that ain't Edthedog or Hankthedog...

Way too good lookin'...

"Don't look at me, I ain't seen 'em"

Better go look inside...
Shit...
There's even more people
 in here.
I ain't never gonna find Ed and Hank
in this crowd...

Oh the humanity of it all...
Walls closing in...
Jus' cain't ...
breathe...

Better find 'em
quick...

That ain't Ed and Hank...

Nope.
That ain't Ed and Hank either...

And that ain't Ed and Hank...

You guessed it.
 Not Ed and Hank...

Even without my glasses on
 I can tell that ain't
Ed and Hank...

And these fellas
definitely ain't
Ed & Hank...

Thought fer sure I'd find them here...

Better look outside again...

Nah.
That ain't Ed or Hank
goin' inta that "sheep camp".

Should have thought of that first though...

Better check them all out...

Don' look like they been in this one...

Or this one...

And I know Ed and Hank
wouldn' be over
there...

Though it sure looks
like Mabel is doin'
a right good
business
today...

I have
to confess
I did get a bit distracted
while looking for Ed and Hank...

Couldn' help but follow this fella around for a while.
'Til Sheep Fest Security intervened and
asked me oh-so-politely to
 leave him & all them
 other cowboys
alone.

Once they
finally let me go,
I tried to buy a couple of them t-shirts

One fer Ed
and one fer Hank
But they weren't sellin' 'em.
Guess that's an entirely different festival...

But I did get to vote

First time I've ever voted for
the winning candidate
in these here parts.
It brought a tear
to my
eye.

Well,
back to lookin' fer
Ed & Hank...

That ain't Hank
and that ain't Ed...

Not Ed...
Not Hank...

And this ain't Hank.  Or Ed...

But I sure do like his purse.

Yes!

Finally!!

Oops...

I mean...

No...

That ain't Ed...

C'mon.
Y'all know
 Ed
 would never let me
put his picture on the Internet.

But Hank might...

Nah.

That ain't Hank.

Really...

(Would I lie...?)

And this ain't Edthedog................................................And that ain't Hankthedog...

(Don't worry
Edthedog & Hankthedog
are very warm and  dry at home.)

Ya gotta admit though,
them are two
ugly dogs.
!

And this ain't Ed and Hank's truck...

(It's Bill's truck.)

Now we can all get the hell out of here!

Er...

That is...

Since I cain't find Ed and Hank anywhere
I guess I'll just have to go home
without 'em...

I'm sure Ed and Hank
will get a ride
with Bill

No problem.
We do it
all the
time
...

"Thanks for stopping by y'all!"

The end...

Betcha thought I was gonna
use sheep butts
for the end...

(But I didn't.)

----

And now a public service
announcement:

On
 a more
sober note
Some of you
may have heard that
certain unscrupulous sheep herders
mark the backs of the
 more docile sheep
with blue
exes.

If
you've
 enjoyed
this Sheep Fest
photograhic montage
(and even if you haven't)
please consider contributing to the:

"For the Love of God, Get Them Damn Blue Exes Off of Our Backs Fund".
(FLGGTDBEOOBF)

Please!
help give them
ewes a fightin' chance.

Because you know when that line
at Mabel's trailer gets too long
all them boys are gonna
 come lookin'
fer her.

Thanks! And those cowpokes really do travel in pairs!! :D I would have had more pictures of pairs of cowboys to post if my camera had cooperated. It didn't like the low light and was too slow to capture a couple of the more intimate cowboy moments I witnessed. Damn! :(

"Guess that's an entirely different festival..." Well thanks to you now I got the (lovely might I add) image of Ed and Hank accidentally (of course *rolls eyes*) visiting a BDSM sorta festival stuck in my head!!

"I'm sure Ed and Hank will get a ride with Bill" I'm quite sure they took care of that 'ride-problem' while you were looking for them ;D

You sure you can't get them to let you post a tiny pic of them here?? Tell Hank that if they won't let you I'm gonna have to imagine him to look like that guy with the purse *g*

Love your lil interludes as always :)

"...Tell Hank that if they won't let you I'm gonna have to imagine him to look like that guy with the purse *g*"
Nooo! Not the guy with the purse... Hank will not like that at all. :( Although that guy did have quite an impressive pornstache!

"I'm quite sure they took care of that 'ride-problem' while you were looking for them ;D"
Yeah, Ed and Hank swear they were just looking for me all that time too, but I don't think so. (Hmmm... Come to think of it, there was that one locked 'sheep camp'... Bet they were in there the whole time.)

"Well thanks to you now I got the (lovely might I add) image of Ed and Hank accidentally (of course *rolls eyes*) visiting a BDSM sorta festival stuck in my head!!"
LOL! Your very welcome! I better check the festival schedule. Wouldn't want to miss one of them kinda festivals coming to town... ;D

"Nooo! Not the guy with the purse... Hank will not like that at all."
It's not like I didn't warn him before and I even give him a choice!!

"Nooo! Not the guy with the purse... Hank will not like that at all."
too bad they locked it :( it would have been such a lovely subject for you and your camera :D

"Wouldn't want to miss one of them kinda festivals coming to town.." ohhh I wanna go there too!! Why don't we bring Hank and Ed along with us (it's not like we need to tell them exactly what kind of festival this is ;) )

Since Ed won't budge on the picture thing, Hank's pretending not to care that you're imagining him as the guy with the purse. He's not doing a real good job of pretending though. :)

"it would have been such a lovely subject for you and your camera :D" I doubt my camera would have been able to handle the dim light in that trailer. I was having trouble with that camera all day. Mighta at least got some interesting shadows on film... :D

"Why don't we bring Hank and Ed along with us (it's not like we need to tell them exactly what kind of festival this is ;)" LOL! Think even Ed and Hank would figure it out right quick... Like to have a camera to capture the looks on their faces that day! (Especially Ed's face...)

don't tell me Hank did try to convince Ed.. if he did he might need to overthink his 'means of conviction' ;D

"Mighta at least got some interesting shadows on film... :D"
Yes indeed *sigh* and leave the rest to your imagination *g*

"Like to have a camera to capture the looks on their faces that day! "
yeah that would def. be worth the trouble we'd have with them afterwards. so when are we going?? :)

"so when are we going?? :)"

Well, we live in a town where people are pretty bored so they have a lot of festivals. (Most only slightly less lame than the "sheep festival") So I'll go to the next city council meeting and suggest a BDSM festival. No one will want to admit they don't know what it is, so it should be okayed easily. I'll let you know when they schedule it. ;D

oh that's a fabulous idea to use it to our advantage that they don't know what it is but they have to agree nevertheless!!! (They prob think it's some of those lame ass festivals they already got plenty of *g*; Wonder what they think the BDSM stands for ;D)

I have now spent four days trying to think up something else that BDSM could stand for. ;D I might just have to tell the truth if I am asked. (Maybe I'll just say it real fast and run it all together and they'll think it's something else altogether...)

LOL! This was wonderfully mad! Looks like you had an entertaining weekend - glad you worked out how to use the umbrella ;) I'm not surprised you lost Ed and Hank in that crowd - and I want one of those tshirts as well!

Thanks honey - loved it!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Ed and Hank helped make what would have been a very dull sheep festival quite entertaining for me, despite my dislike for such massive crowds of people... ;D. I wanted one of those tshirts for myself too, not just for Ed and Hank. So I was very disappointed that they weren't selling them. :( Probably would have bought every one they had if they had been for sale.

So funny!! Amazing how so many of them cowboys are NOT Ed or Hank!

I'd like to become a charter member of FLGGTDBEOOBF. So sign me up. ;D

BTW, I was out West recently and I found some postcards Ed and Hank may have lost. I'd love to send them to you (or at least the scans!) for verification. There ain't no writin' I can make out, but maybe Ed or Hank remember what they wrote. E-mail me at Lalynia@gmail.com if you want me to send them.

Poor sheep. "All my X's live in.." Shutting up now.

It is amazing how many of them cowboys were NOT Ed or Hank. You'd think I would have found them sooner or later...

Sounds like you may have figured out where Ed and Hank live! Of course Ed and Hank and I would love to see (verify) the postcards! I will email you right after this. (My email address is myeyesaintblue@yahoo.com)

Consider yourself an official member of FLGGTDBEOOBF! (Please make your check payable to 'Ed and Hank'. They'll make sure blue dye remover gets to as many ewes as possible.)

I'm glad you liked it! Ed and Hank swear they had just lost me in that huge crowd too and spent all they're time looking for ME. Of course I didn't believe them for a second. Although, I didn't mind too much - looking for them livened up a very dull sheep festival for me. :D And they cooked me a real nice dinner (NOT lamb!) later to make up for getting so hopelessly "lost".

God I love you so much I want one of those T shirts so badly I just cannot get enough of this I keep scrolling back and forth reading laughing and having a good time looking at all of those great cowboys. Boy it makes me want to find myself a cowboy dam too bad I sold my horse years ago. You keep going because laughter is healing and you make me feel so good. Joe

Hey Joe! I'm glad you had fun at the sheep festival! I really wish they had been selling those tshirts(!). And I would have had some even better pictures of cowboys if my camera had cooperated. Darn! :( It didn't like the low light levels, and I was already irritatin' 'nough cowboys withou' usin' the flash. (Didn' want ta spook 'em) ;D
I really appreciate all the encouragement you've given me and Ed and Hank all along. Thank you so much!

P.S. Better get yerself 'nother horse if ya want ta find yerself a cowboy. 'Course ya might have to move out here with me and Ed and Hank too. (And maybe Aliceathome. She keeps promising to move in with us. Haven't seen hide nor hair of her yet though...)

Re: Yee-Haw!

"Sheep were cute, too, specially that last little ewe. Wonder what she's doin this Saturday night?"

Must be honest. My first thought was ew... But then I told myself not to be so judgmental. She's an adult ewe and it's up to her. Not sure if she's ready to start dating yet, but I'll ask...
